Croydon’s not trendy.
It’s cool. 😜
What are everyone’s thoughts on these latest press reports?! 🤔
Party Parade
Set your alarms for 11am today! ⏰
News just in from @cpfc:
"This Monday 26 May, Palace's open-top bus parade will transport your FA Cup winning heroes, and the historic trophy itself, down the SE25 streets starting at the top of Whitehorse Lane from 13:00.
The parade route will see the bus start at the top of Whitehorse Lane, turning into Park Road and then down Holmesdale Road; this is expected to last approximately 45 minutes.
Be there to bring the noise, and celebrate with Oliver Glasner's outstanding Eagles as they show off our legendary prize.
No tickets are required for the parade. 🙌
This will then feed into a party on the pitch at Selhurst Park from 14:30; live entertainment, special guests, end-of-season awards – and maybe even a trophy lift or two – await.
The event inside Selhurst will be free, but ticketed; supporters can either book standing tickets on the famous Selhurst Park pitch, or take their seats in the Main Stand.
When you're there, grab a drink, some food – and get ready to celebrate your 2025 FA Cup-winning heroes, South London style.
Free tickets will be available from 11:00 BST today (Friday, 23rd May), with standing tickets on the Selhurst Park pitch, and seated tickets in the Main Stand. Please note that tickets will only be available by booking online.”
Door 2 Door
Nice to see @diarmuidgavin admiring Croydon’s doors (when filming a BBC garden show here recently!)
As he explains on his post,
“While wandering the quiet streets near the house where we were working, I was completely struck by the beauty of the front doors. Rows of 1930s, 40s and 50s homes, each with a unique façade, but united by something quietly poetic: colourful doors, and above them, delicate Art Nouveau-style glass panels etched with evocative house names—often borrowed from Cornish or Devon towns and villages.
St Ives. Tintagel. Lynmouth. Totnes. Places of wild coastlines and windswept romance, reimagined here in suburban London.
This wasn’t coincidence. In the interwar years, developers tapped into a national yearning for countryside and coast—a nostalgic ideal of rural beauty and seaside escape. Naming homes after faraway idylls gave everyday suburbia a dreamlike quality. It wasn’t just a house. It was a life imagined.
Locals are often fiercely protective of these original features. And rightly so. The small details - glasswork, tiling, place names—contribute to a street’s identity and beauty. They remind us how vital local character is in the built environment”.
Wise words for current developers 😉

Cocktail Hour
Meet Bruce and Paramjit - creators of Crazy Gin - which they founded in South Norwood in 2016. 💡
The husband-and-wife team grew up surrounded by unforgettable flavours but rarely saw them celebrated in the drink’s world. So, they distilled their heritage into a bottle.
Their debut was the world’s only clear Lassi Gin. It combines yogurt, turmeric, and pomegranate into a light, refreshing spirit with an irresistibly smooth, creamy mouthfeel. 🍸
Then came Punjabi Chai Gin - a tribute to their grandmother’s tea. This one uses warming spice, creamy coconut, and saffron - a symbol of luxury, legacy, and celebration across South Asian culture (and also connected to Croydon via the borough’s history for saffron cultivation!) 🍸
Today, Crazy Gin goes beyond spirits. As @teamcrazyco, Bruce and Paramjit create immersive alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktail experiences that explore identity, creativity, and culture through flavour.
So who better to partner with for our next Lit Nights?! 🔥
On 29 May, Lit Nights welcomes @nussaibahyounis to the stage - for a conversation about her debut novel - Fundamentally - which explores “love, family, religion and the decisions we make in pursuit of belonging”.
We look forward to telling you more about what’s on the drinks menu in the coming days… 👀 🍸 🍹 🥤
